Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasonings

  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (plus extra to taste)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Pasta and Garnish

  • 12 oz fettuccine or penne pasta (cooked separately according to package instructions)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Generously season the chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper to infuse the meat with bold, spicy flavors.
  2. Combine Ingredients in Slow Cooker: Place the seasoned chicken in the slow cooker. Add minced garlic, heavy cream, chicken broth, butter, and a pinch of salt, creating a creamy base for the sauce.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or on HIGH for 2–3 hours until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  4. Shred the Chicken: Carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Shred or slice the chicken, then return it to the slow cooker, blending it into the sauce.
  5. Add Parmesan Cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy and smooth.
  6. Toss with Pasta and Serve: Add the cooked pasta directly to the slow cooker and toss gently to coat with the Alfredo sauce and chicken. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add extra Cajun seasoning or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce, but it may be less thick and creamy.
  • Ensure pasta is cooked al dente as it will soak up the sauce when tossed.
  • This dish can be prepared a day in advance and reheated gently to maintain sauce consistency.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free pasta and verify Cajun seasoning ingredients.
