Delightfully flaky crescent rolls filled with a sweet, buttery pecan pie filling, combining the classic flavors of pecan pie with the convenience of crescent roll dough. Perfect for an easy dessert or a festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

Filling

  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare Filling Mixture: In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, light corn syrup, melted unsalted butter, pure vanilla extract, and the large egg. Stir well to blend all the ingredients smoothly. Reserve 2 tablespoons of this mixture for brushing later.
  3. Add Pecans: Stir the chopped pecans into the remaining filling mixture until the pecans are evenly coated with the sugary syrup.
  4. Assemble Rolls: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles, placing them on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of the pecan filling onto the widest end of each triangle. Carefully roll the dough from the wide end towards the narrow tip to enclose the filling.
  5. Initial Bake: Bake the assembled crescent rolls in the preheated oven for 8 minutes, just until they start to set but are not yet golden.
  6. Brush and Finish Baking: Remove the rolls from the oven and brush each one with the reserved 2 tablespoons of the pecan filling mixture to add extra flavor and shine. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the rolls are lightly golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven and if desired, sprinkle additional chopped pecans on top for garnish before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
  • Make sure not to overfill the crescent rolls to avoid filling leakage during baking.
  • Check for any nut allergies before serving, as this recipe contains pecans.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated gently in the oven.
  • For a richer taste, consider using dark corn syrup.
