Scale

Sauce & Aromatics

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon yellow curry paste
  • ¾ cup full fat coconut milk
  • ¼ cup vegetable broth or chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Kikkoman® Fish Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Kikkoman® Gyoza Dumpling Dipping Sauce

Vegetables

  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

Main

  • 12 frozen vegetable or chicken gyoza

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the curry and gyoza.
  2. Sauté aromatics: Heat the vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and sauté until soft, about 3 minutes. Then add minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 30 seconds to release their flavors.
  3. Add curry paste and liquids: Stir in the yellow curry paste to coat the aromatics evenly. Pour in the coconut milk, broth, fish sauce, and gyoza dipping sauce, stirring to combine everything into a flavorful curry sauce.
  4. Add vegetables: Toss in the chopped carrots, broccoli florets, and sliced red bell pepper. Mix well so all the vegetables are coated with the curry sauce.
  5. Arrange gyoza: Place the frozen gyoza in a single layer on top of the vegetables. Spoon some sauce over each dumpling to keep them moist during baking.
  6. Bake covered: Cover the skillet tightly with foil to trap steam and bake in the preheated oven until the vegetables are tender and the gyoza are cooked through, approximately 15 minutes.
  7. Bake uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for an additional 5 to 7 minutes to allow the gyoza to become lightly browned and crispy on top.
  8. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro. Serve hot and enjoy your one-pan gyoza curry bake.

Notes

  • You can substitute the frozen gyoza with either vegetable or chicken varieties based on your preference.
  • Use vegetable broth to make the dish vegetarian-friendly; chicken broth adds a richer flavor.
  • Adjust the curry paste amount if you prefer a milder or spicier dish.
  • For extra crispiness, you can briefly broil the dish after the uncovered baking step, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently before serving.
