Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Mixture

  • 6 oz (170 g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (or shortening)
  • 3 drops lavender candy oil
  • a few drops purple oil-based food coloring

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate Chips: Add the white chocolate chips and coconut oil to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring well between each, or melt using a double boiler method on the stovetop by placing the bowl over simmering water. Stir continuously until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat once done.
  2. Add Lavender Oil and Colorant: Mix in 3 drops of lavender candy oil and a few drops of purple oil-based food coloring into the melted chocolate. This will infuse the chocolate with a gentle floral aroma and give it a lovely purple hue.
  3. Mix Well: Gently stir the chocolate until the lavender oil and food coloring are thoroughly incorporated and no streaks remain, ensuring an even color and flavor distribution.
  4. Transfer into Pastry Bag: Spoon the chocolaty mixture into a disposable piping bag and carefully snip off the tip to prepare for piping the chips.
  5. Pipe Chocolate Chips: Line a small cookie sheet with wax paper or parchment paper. Pipe small dots that resemble chocolate chips evenly spaced on the sheet until the entire mixture is used.
  6. Freeze Chocolate Chips: Place the cookie sheet in the freezer and chill for 10 to 15 minutes or until the chocolate chips have fully solidified.
  7. Release Chocolate Chips: Gently peel or bend the wax/parchment paper to release the solid chocolate chips. Transfer the chips to an airtight container for storage until ready to use.

Notes

  • Use oil-based food coloring to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • If you don’t have lavender candy oil, you can substitute with a drop or two of lavender extract but adjust the amount cautiously as it can be potent.
  • Store the chocolate chips in an airtight container in the freezer or refrigerator to maintain freshness and prevent melting.
  • Do not overheat the chocolate to avoid burning or graininess.
  • You can pipe larger or smaller chips depending on your desired use.
