Ingredients

Scale

For the Skillet

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Allow them to melt together before moving on to the next step to create a flavorful base for cooking the vegetables.
  2. Sauté the Veggies: Add cauliflower florets to the skillet and cook for 5–6 minutes until they start to turn golden brown to develop flavor and texture. Next, add sliced mushrooms and continue cooking for an additional 4–5 minutes until tender and browned.
  3. Add Garlic & Seasonings: Stir in minced garlic along with smoked paprika and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and black pepper as desired. Cook for another 2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and spices are well incorporated.
  4. Finish & Serve: Drizzle lemon juice over the vegetable mixture to brighten the flavors. If desired, sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top for a cheesy touch before garnishing with fresh parsley. Serve hot and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh cauliflower and mushrooms for best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust seasoning to your preference; you can add extra garlic or spices for more intensity.
  • Cook on medium heat to prevent burning garlic and achieve even cooking.
  • Adding cooked chicken or shrimp can turn this into a complete protein meal.
  • Try different cheeses like feta or goat cheese for a unique flavor variation.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat gently using oven, microwave, or stovetop to maintain texture and flavor.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure vegetables brown nicely instead of steaming.
  • Use frozen cauliflower and mushrooms only if thawed and drained to avoid excess moisture.
