Ingredients
- 6 small tortillas (corn or flour)
- Olive oil cooking spray
- Coarse salt, to taste
- Slice Tortillas: Cut each tortilla into 6-8 equal triangular pieces, similar to slicing a pizza, to create chip-sized portions.
- Prepare the Chips: Lightly spray the tortilla pieces with olive oil cooking spray and sprinkle them evenly with coarse salt. Arrange the tortillas in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not overlap to allow for even cooking.
- First Air Fry: Cook the chips in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes. Then, open the basket carefully.
- Flip and Season Again: Flip each chip to the other side for even browning. Lightly spray again with olive oil cooking spray and add more coarse salt if desired.
- Final Air Fry: Cook the chips for an additional 2 to 3 minutes at 350°F until they are browned and crisp.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the chips from the air fryer basket and let them cool briefly. This resting period allows the chips to finish crisping before serving.
Notes
- Use either corn or flour tortillas based on preference; corn will give a more traditional chip flavor.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even crisping.
- Adjust salt quantity according to taste.
- For extra flavor, try sprinkling chili powder or garlic powder before cooking.
- Store leftover chips in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
